If you like binging animal or nature shows, you’ll love this inside look at the animal kingdom of the San Diego Zoo. While the Zoo is just nine minutes from our West Park apartments, you don’t even need to leave your couch to enjoy the San Diego Zoo animal cams.
About the San Diego Zoo
The San Diego Zoo is committed to saving the animals of the world. Their expert team specializes in animal care and conservation sciences with a passion for nature. In April of 2019, the zoo returned two Giant Panda’s, Bai Yun and Xiao Liwu, to their ancestral homeland in the People’s Republic of China as a part of this mission. While you may have missed the pandas, there are still a number of other animals you can watch from home.
Playful Polar Bears
While viewing the tundra habitat, you may find the polar bears lounging, playing, enjoying their water features, or even swimming. The zoo’s three polar bears were found orphaned in the wild and brought to the zoo to give them a fighting chance at survival. These de facto siblings are sure to keep you entertained. Keep an eye out for little black spots on these giant furry friends. Scientists are studying the polar bear’s fur to learn how fast it grows.
When tuning in to the koala cam’s live stream, expect to find these little cuties snoozing or roaming high above the ground in the zoo’s Australian Outback. Koalas have quite a history in San Diego. Reading about their journey in our local area makes watching these little marsupials that much more fascinating.
